Daniel Irving, novosound’s Executive Product Development Manager, has been awarded a place on the Royal Academy of Engineering’s prestigious Schott Scale-Up Accelerator programme.
The Schott Scale-Up Accelerator supports individuals in executive roles to develop their leadership skills in high-growth engineering and technology SMEs which display excellence in engineering. Places on the programme are gained through a competitive application process with the best applicants awarded a place on the accelerator programme and lifetime membership of the Royal Academy’s Enterprise Hub.
During the six-month programme, candidates are awarded £10,000 towards training and development and are allocated an experienced mentor who will help refine a strategy that enables them to navigate the unique challenges of scaling up a business.
As one of novosound’s founding employees, Dan joined the company in 2018, working his way up from being the company’s first full-time engineer to leading the technical and engineering team. In his role as Executive Product Development Manager, Dan oversees and leads the development of Novosound’s advanced ultrasound sensors that enable customers to improve their safety and increase their efficiencies across key industries such as Energy, Power Generation and Aviation.
Commenting on the accelerator programme, Dan said:

The programme allows me the opportunity to formalise my knowledge and skills in leadership and management whilst continuing to lead Novosound’s technical engineering team on our exciting and ambitious product development roadmap. The training and coaching will cement my leadership skillset and the networking will guide and support me through the challenges of growing a technical company”.
