We at Novosound are excited to announce our expansion into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, driven by recent successful engagements with major global energy companies in the Middle East and North America. This strategic move aligns with our broader objectives to strengthen our international footprint and leverage our innovative technologies in new markets.
Central to our expansion is the Ceilidh system, an advanced solution designed for comprehensive corrosion monitoring in industrial environments. We are proud to showcase the Ceilidh system at the upcoming 20th World Conference for Non-Destructive Testing (WCNDT), scheduled to take place in Incheon, South Korea, from May 27th to 30th. Hosted by the Korean Society for Nondestructive Testing (KSNT), this prestigious event provides an excellent platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies in the field of nondestructive testing.
The fully patented Ceilidh system addresses a range of critical industry challenges, notably corrosion under composite wraps. This capability has enabled us to secure commercial contracts across the international industrial sector, building on previous successes with esteemed clients such as Atom Group in Greece, Uniper in the UK, BAE Systems in the UK, and GE Aviation in the USA. These collaborations underscore the system’s efficacy and reliability, positioning Novosound as a leader in the field.

Our CEO and Founder, Dave Hughes, describes the Ceilidh system as a transformative solution in nondestructive testing. According to Dave, the system is meticulously tailored to meet the complex needs of industries where effective corrosion monitoring is crucial. Its innovative approach and robust performance make it an invaluable tool for maintaining the integrity and safety of industrial assets.
In addition to presenting the Ceilidh system at WCNDT, our visit to South Korea will also feature a focused effort to promote our wireless wearable ultrasound system, the Slanj. Dave Hughes will actively engage with prominent technology and electronics groups in South Korea to highlight the Slanj platform. Currently, the Slanj is undergoing trials with digital healthcare partners in the USA and Europe, showcasing its potential to revolutionise biometrics monitoring.
The Slanj platform utilises groundbreaking ultrasound technology to provide deeper and more accurate insights into the body, enhancing the monitoring of critical health parameters such as blood pressure and dehydration. This advanced capability surpasses the limitations of traditional optical, magnetic, and electrical sensors, positioning the Slanj as a frontrunner in the digital health sector.
The novosound Slanj provides Wireless Wearable Ultrasound for research opportunities in digital health.
Dave Hughes has emphasized our unwavering commitment to exploring potential collaborations in both the industrial and digital health sectors during our visit to South Korea. We firmly believe that these partnerships offer significant opportunities for mutual growth, reinforcing Scottish innovation and its world-class capabilities. Dave envisions these collaborations not only as a means to expand our market reach but also as a testament to our dedication to advancing technological frontiers.
The strategic expansion into the APAC region, coupled with the showcasing of the Ceilidh system and the Slanj platform, underscores our ambition to lead in both industrial and healthcare applications of ultrasound technology. By engaging with key stakeholders and potential partners in South Korea, we aim to solidify our presence in the region and drive forward our mission of delivering innovative solutions to global challenges.
In summary, our planned expansion in the APAC region represents a significant milestone in our growth trajectory. With the Ceilidh system set to make a notable impact at the WCNDT in South Korea and the Slanj platform poised to redefine biometrics monitoring, we are well-positioned to continue our ascent as a leader in ultrasound technology. Dave Hughes’ proactive engagement with industry leaders and potential collaborators further underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence. This strategic approach not only enhances our market presence but also highlights the broader potential of Scottish technological ingenuity on the global stage.
Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey!
